Description

The CFTF's annual Fall Festival on Broadway was established in 2008 to acquaint people with the benefits a restored Colonial Fox Theatre will bring to our community in general and the downtown district in particular.  A large part of this festival is a steetpainting event where professional artists are invited to create paintings on our downtown sidewalks that will be judged by renown professional artists who will award 1st-3rd prizes of $750, $500, and $250 respectively.  Artists are required to use their own chalk or some other pre-approved material and are given approximately 6 hours to complete their work.  Workspace is limited to an approximately 63"x60" concrete square.  This is a juried show and all artists are required to submit examples of previous work by September 27th in order to be approved for the event.  Contact  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Colonial Fox Theatre is the sole remaining historic theatre from the movie palace era in Pittsburg, Kansas and one of the last in southeast Kansas.  It is listed on both the Kansas and National Historic Registries.
