FRINGEMK launches the first UK Street Painting Festival.
12-20 July 2010 sees the shopping centres of Central Milton Keynes – thecentre:mk and Midsummer Place – host a vast Pavement Art Initiative.
Middleton Hall will become the focus, for the first week, with Mexican artist Juandres Vera’s commission as the centrepiece. Around this work, FRINGEMK invites UK and International Street Painters to showcase their work alongside a leading International artist.
We will be offering 10 small bursaries (£250 each) to artists who have entered the competition, selected by the FRINGEMK panel. These 10 artists will be allocated prime spaces in Middleton Hall; another 25 artists will be selected who will be allocated additional plots. Drawing materials will be provided.
All selected artists will be eligible for the prize money of £1000.
